Camí de Cormes Red

The Samsó grape of our centennial vines and the care at work in the vineyard make the Camí de Cormes a unique, authentic and exceptional wine

Variety
100% Samsó (Carignan), vines are over 100 years old.

Climate
Mediterranean, with strong and dry northern winds (Tramontana) and sea breezes in the afternoon

Yield
One of the parcels planted in 1896 produces about 3,100 Kg / ha and the other from 1900 about 3,500 Kg / h

Location of the Vineyards
Flat land, 50 msm.

Soil Composition
63% sand, 23% limestone and 14% clay. Stony strength.

Harvest
Selected grapes harvested by hand in boxes of 20 kilos during the second or third week of October.

Vinification
Conservation of cold grapes for 24 hours. Crushed grapes and pre-fermentative maceration in cold for 48 hours at 10 degrees. Fermentation in contact with the skin for 25 days between 24 and 26 degrees celsius.

Aging
14 months in 225 litre French oak barrels.

In the plain, 50m above sea-level

66% sand, 20% alluvial & 14% clay

Harvest
Grapes picked by hand at the beginning of September using 20 kg plastic crates.

Vinification and Ageing Process
Fermented in French oak barrels of 225 litres. The wine lays for 3 months in contact with the lees.

Camí de Cormes Grey Grenache

Type
Barrel-aged white wine, D.O. Empordà

Grape Variety
100% Grey Grenache

Climate
Mediterranean, with dry and strong northerly wind (Tramuntana) and sea breezes in the late afternoon.

% vol   Ph
     13.50%   4.78 g/l ac. tartaric

Yield
About 4.000 Kg/ha.

Location of the Vineyards
Flat terrain at 50 metres over sea level.

Soil Compostion
66% sand, 20% lime and 14% clay

Harvest
Hand picked grapes in 20 Kg crates by mid-september.

Vinification
Grape skin maceration and fermentation.

Aging
Wine is in contact with the lees for 3 months in a 225 litre french oak barrel and a part of it in stainless steel vat.
